The beginnings of the Diaz Foods can be traced back to 1969 when Rene M. Diaz's grandfather, Domingo L. Diaz, opened their first grocery store call Diaz Market in Midtown Atlanta. When their business quickly grew to five stores Julio Rene Diaz, Rene's father saw the need for a distribution center. Diaz Foods was formed in 1980 and at this point, Rene M. Diaz was asked to head up the new distribution center. Over the years, Diaz Foods has grown into one of the largest distributors of Hispanic food products in the United States, serving more than 6,000 customers in 25 states.
ATLANTA - April 12, 2017 - PRLog -- Diaz Foods announced today that Edward Torres has joined the Company as Executive Vice President of New Jersey Regional Sales to further develop their growing portfolio of regional and national accounts based out of the New Jersey Sales & Distribution Center. Edward Torres comes with a wealth of experience within the Industry, having spent the last twenty years with major Manufacturers in the Hispanic Food industry, include Nabisco, Goya, Rowland Coffee and Del Sur. In these positions, he has been instrumental in growing sales and revenue, acquiring numerous large corporate accounts, and improving brand strength. Joining in Diaz Foods during such a crucial moment, with two major distribution centers and growing brand portfolio, Edward can continue his success.
The Diaz family has made a habit of covering long distances, starting in 1967 with their move from Cuba to Atlanta. Forty-five years later, the family business has grown and evolved into a highly specialized supplier of imported specialty foods--with the help of Ryder.

Diaz Foods prepares for their largest trade show of the year for the Southeast region taking place on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 9am - 5pm. This show gives our customer from independent grocers to retail chains as well as food service and restaurants to come and sample products while taking advantage of "special show offers" from brands like Topo Chico, Lala, Juanitas, Bauducco, Maseca, Jarritos, La Costeña, Jumex, La Cena, D'Sabor, Lala, Land O'Lakes, Unilever, Nestle, El Yucateco to name a few.
