Buyer – FT

SUMMARY:  Procures re-sale inventory, while maximizing turns and minimizing out of stock items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Review stock status
  • Inventory Levels
  • Replenish orders
  • Create Purchase orders
  • Fax, e-mail the PO’s
  • Review outstanding Purchase Order Report to assure that all receiving’s are entered.  Any discrepancies should be reported to the appropriate buyer
  • Contact Vendors for errors on the receiving side
  • New Business research on new items or vendors
  • Coordinate and follow up on set-up new vendors collecting the paperwork needed it.
  • Daily review of the out of stock and open orders at the end of the day
  • Assist in reducing and liquidating slow moving and obsolete inventory
  • Coordinate any necessary inventory count requests with your manager and warehouse manager
  • Assist in the coordination of all promotions, food shows and trade shows
  • Assist the EVP of Purchasing with administrative duties if needed

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, or appropriately mix of education and experience
  • One year of purchasing, sales or related field experience
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • High performance and a strong team player
  • Quality management
  • Maintaining compliance with policies and procedures
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products
